To My Girls, I'm Sorry
An oversized wooden hairbrush embedded with steel spikes, To My Girls, I'm Sorry (2025) reflects on one of the most familiar rituals of motherhood: brushing a daughter's tangled hair. What begins as an act of care is often accompanied by tears, protests, and guilt. By transforming the brush into an impossible object, the work magnifies the emotional conflict of causing temporary pain in the hope of offering care. It is both an apology to my daughters and a reflection on the quiet complexities of maternal love.
