Kinetic Sculptures

My kinetic sculptures bring movement, motors, electronics and mechanical elements into my practice, combining traditional wood carving with technology. I am interested in the tension between the handmade and the programmed, and in how movement can give a sculpture a sense of life, behaviour and unpredictability. These works explore ideas around domestic life, labour, care and human behaviour, while allowing experimentation, humour and the occasional mechanical failure to become part of the work.
