Good Morning

Good Morning (2026) is an interactive sculpture that invites viewers to press an arcade button, setting the clock hands spinning before they settle on different emotional expressions across each member of the family. Every activation produces a new combination, making each encounter unique.

The work explores the uncertainty of contemporary family life and the emotional negotiations that shape our daily interactions. Emotions are rarely fixed; they shift in response to circumstance, often revealing the complexity of caring for one another while carrying our own inner experiences. By allowing chance to determine the outcome, Good Morning reflects the unpredictability that exists within relationships and the continual process of adapting, responding and finding balance.

Combining carved wood with mechanical movement, the sculpture uses humour and participation to invite reflection on the fragile, ever-changing nature of human emotion. The simple act of pressing a button becomes a reminder that no two days—or emotional landscapes—begin in quite the same way.
